1/28/25 Winter Mushroom in West Seattle: Witch's Butter

Large Witch's Butter, growing on hardwood in West Seattle today. By the look of it alone I'd guess Tremella mesenterica. Edibility: "Harmless but flavorless" (Aurora 1986). I've seen some use these to create jelly candy by simmering in ginger and honey before dehydrating. Learn more about Witch's Butter and it's look-alikes.
